Anthony Roberts is a photographer and former professional dancer and choreographer based in Tubac, Arizona. He performed nationally and internationally with Repertory Dance Theatre, Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, Sharir Dance Company, and Jacob's Pillow's Men Dancers: The Ted Shawn Legacy. From 1995 to 2022, he taught and choreographed dance at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. Photography and video have long been part of Anthony's creative practice, including their incorporation into his concert dance work. His background in movement continues to influence the way he sees and composes photographs, particularly his sensitivity to gesture, rhythm, spatial relationships and form. Since retiring to Southern Arizona in 2022, Anthony has increasingly focused on photography inspired by the landscapes, plants and natural forms he encounters locally and through travel. His work has been exhibited at Joan of Arts Gallery, Zimmerman Gallery, and Tubac Center for the Arts in Tubac, Arizona.
